Deep Winter both describes, and is the prescription for, that “special” time of the year every seasoned Midwesterner is more than familiar with. To help the libation bearer break through to Spring thaw, we decided to do a complete substitute of coffee for hops. With a lighter roast used for a soft bittering effect, and a richer Guatemalan bean used for the flavor and aroma, we wish you luck in determining exactly where the ambrosial waves of coffee end and the luscious beer begins.
